Laura Preuss is a Policy Analyst with Blue Sky Consulting Group, contributing her experience in research, evaluation, and analysis to strengthen the functioning of public systems.

During the pursuit of a Master of Social Welfare degree, Laura worked in various roles to support research and evaluation efforts at education, nonprofit, and county agencies. She designed and implemented the evaluation plan for Berkeley Unified School District’s comprehensive middle school sexual health curriculum and assisted in the integration of restorative practice and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support models at Willard Middle School. At First 5 San Francisco, Laura supported the grantee partnerships of family resource centers throughout San Francisco through evaluation work and data management. Laura has also conducted extensive research on national condom use trends as well as federal funding opportunities for youth involved in child welfare and juvenile justice systems. Prior to receiving her masters, Laura spent five years at Seneca Family of Agencies in both direct practice and administrative positions to provide effective mental health services to youth involved in the child welfare system.

Laura received dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Sociology and Psychology from Santa Clara University, and a Master of Social Welfare from UC Berkeley with a concentration in Management and Planning. She holds a Pupil Personnel Services Credential as well as a Certificate in Human Services Management.
